Figeac

Jean- François CHAMPOLLION, the decipherer

Figeac is the town where J F Champollion was born, on December 23rd, 1790. His house is today, a museum: The Champollion Museum.

In 1801, at the age of ten, he was sent off to study at the Lyceum in Grenoble (450 km from Figeac). He lived at Vif, near Grenoble, where his second house is a Museum too: "The Champollion's House":

Welcome in Grenoble....

Grenoble (and suburbs) is 300 000 people / aera of 90 km², 210 metres above sea level. The 3 great mountains around Grenoble are : "Le Vercors" in the south west with 1901 metres, the summit is le Moucherotte. " La Chartreuse" in the north with 1359 metres, the summit is le Saint-Eynard. "Belledonne" in the Est, with 1785 metres, the summit: Chamrousse.

The snowy mountain is Belledonne. There are a lot of stations for skiing

From the same place you can see the other mountain: Le Vercors, with the higher point Le Moucherotte

Each year, on September on the Chartreuse mountain, you can see strange flying objects !!

Around Grenoble

I think you like to fly !

Shall we take the plane, to see better ?

Near Grenoble, there is a aerodrome, where we can take a little plane.

Are you OK ? Don't worry, I'm not the pilot

Let's go for 50 minutes of pleasure !

You're certainly reconizing the Chartreuse mountain:

On the south of Grenoble, we are arring above the 3 lakes of Laffrey.

These lakes are 1000 meters above sea level.

We are above the lake of Monteynard:

In the South of Grenoble

Now, if you have confidence in me, get up !

I promise you to drive so quitely...!

This valley name is Moulin Vieux

And now, we are going in an other valley: Chamechaude

There are lot's of waterfalls

Below, this is the one I prefer, because we can go swimming under this waterfall.

And during the summer, when the time is very warm, this is like a giant spray !

I hope to see you again in France...Perhaps to touch the snow or for skiing?

Pastels secs, pastels gras, peintures à huile

Les pastels secs...

Mon premier pastel sec:

J'aime les couleurs qui pètent !

Après 3 ans d'arrêt de pastel, voici le dernier en cours :

Les pastels gras...

Je n'en ai fait que 2 !

Peinture à l'huile...

J'avoue que ce n'est pas trop mon truc !! Je n'ose pas montrer mes horreurs ! Ou alors juste ces deux-là. Parce que ce sont le premier et le dernier ! Entre les 2, ce n'est pas montrable !

Ma première peinture à huile:

Ma dernière: C'est aussi par là que commence mon obession pour l'Egypte. Je n'avais plus d'inspiration, et je suis tombée sur la tombe de Nefertari. Aujourd'hui, c'est sûre que je la peindrais différemment. On dirait qu'elle a le nez grec. J'avais peint un peu des hieros sur le bas, juste pour faire joli, je n'y connaissais rien ! Et lorsque j'ai voulu en connaître un peu plus sur ce que je peignais, c'est là que j'ai vendu mon âme à Seth !
